Challenge
The client representatives approached Rootstack with the need to connect their ERP with Cubitt's e-Commerce, on Shopify. It is a brand of sports watches and accessories that wants to start operations in Mexico.
Our solution
The Rootstack team made integration between Intcomex's ERP and Cubitt's e-Commerce, hosted on Shopify. Thanks to this, the products arrive from the ERP to Shopify, and Shopify takes care of taking them to digital channels, such as the Cubitt website, where people can generate orders and buy those products.
It is a platform that sells directly from the company to the end customer. Thanks to the integration, the e-Commerce in Shopify connects with the ERP to validate aspects such as availability, product, and inventory, among other aspects.
The company's products are automatically uploaded to Shopify from the ERP, also uploading technical and dimensional aspects of the product, but the images are uploaded from the same Shopify environment.
When a user makes a purchase from Cubitt's e-Commerce on Shopify, a booking is immediately created within the parcel company's website, thanks to which the company knows where to pick up the product and where to deliver it later. They provide a service to Cubitt.
After the payment is made by the user, this action goes to the ERP, software that has to record the order, payment and delivery of the product.
Technology
The entire infrastructure of the functions is in the Azure cloud. They are Azure Functions that are activated as they are needed. There are several that we use in this project, there is the one to create products, update products, bring the inventory, create an order, create the payment, and create the shipment. Each of the actions that are generated is Azure Functions.
Having functions in the cloud generates high availability, it is scalable to the extent that you want the function to be much more developed, and you can version and scale it.
