Amazon AWS is one of the most complete cloud computing services on the market, with more than 200 services available to its users that cover all the functions necessary for the correct development of a web page, as well as its maintenance and operation.
Some of their services can be used together to deliver new functionality to web pages and computer systems, including the AWS Gateway API, Elastic Load Balancing, and Security Groups.
What is AWS Gateway API?
This is an AWS service especially for expert API developers, it allows them to develop, publish, maintain and develop APIs at any scale for any website. APIs are applications that work to connect the backend to the frontend, allowing access to data or any other functionality.
On their official website they explain “With API Gateway, you can create RESTful APIs and WebSocket APIs that allow real-time bidirectional communication applications. API Gateway supports containerized and serverless workloads as well as web applications.”
Elastic Load Balancing
Elastic Load Balancing (ELB), automatically distributes incoming application traffic across multiple targets and virtual appliances in one or more Availability Zones (AZs).
With this AWS service, the developer will be able to modernize applications with servers and containers, allowing them to be scalable to meet the demand of users and visitors without the need for complete configurations or API binding.
Additionally, the developer can deploy network devices from their preferred provider while taking advantage of the scale and flexibility of the cloud.
What is a security group on Amazon?
In order to explain this, we turn to the official Amazon EC2 documentation, where they explain “A security group acts as a virtual firewall for your EC2 instances to control incoming and outgoing traffic. Ingress rules control traffic coming into your instance, and egress rules control traffic going out of your instance. When you launch an instance, you can specify one or more security groups. If you don't specify a security group, Amazon EC2 uses the default security group. You can add rules to each security group that allow traffic to or from its associated instances.
In this way, all these AWS services can work together within the same application or website, contributing to its better execution by allowing effective communication between all the component parts.
