BPM for the government sector: values and benefits

Introductionbpm

Already in the 21st century, companies have moved most of their internal administrative processes and tasks to automation, leaving artificial intelligence or machine learning to be in charge of repetitive tasks and allowing human personnel to give more attention to other priority areas. The public or government sector is no stranger to this.

The government sector has a great need for automation since there are more and more processes and tasks that its workers must perform on a daily basis, in addition to paying due attention to the people who visit government entities every day with their individual needs.

However, streamlining the public sector is no easy task, requiring officials to identify precise areas of review while maintaining essential jobs and services. Fortunately, governments can take some advice from the private sector and use business process management (BPM) to help maximize efficiency.

In this document we present the benefits that a company can obtain by automating its processes and implementing a BPM tool for its daily tasks, helping its employees with the workload and allowing a more efficient management of the company. This applies to government institutions.

With some examples and success stories, we show how BPM is helping governments around the world. With each passing year, more government organizations are finding ways to analyze their processes and simplify the ways information is stored and accessed.
