Selenium is a platform that has many different tools to automate browsers. It’s a pool of tools that allow you to automatize the various tests done on web browsers. To put it simply, web applications need to be tested on browsers, and with Selenium, you can automatize that process.

Selenium works fine across all of the known platforms meaning Windows, Linux and even Mac. Not only that, but you can use any browser available (Google, Mozilla, Internet, Safari and Opera) to run all the necessary tests.
